Security Posture Assessments
At ICM one of our core competencies is performing security posture assessments for your network, hosts and applications. The various assessments are designed to provide insight into network security design and implementation in aligning with industry best practices.
ICM is capable of assessing all parts of your infrastructure including the Network, Applications, Hosts and Wireless deployments either internally or externally. Regulatory, fiscal and legislative mandates are beginning to make these efforts compulsory instead of merely suggestions. Leverage our expertise for your company!
Network
Network assessments are subdivided into two offerings, the Network Vulnerability Assessment and the Network Penetration Test.
Network Vulnerability Assessment

A Network Vulnerability Assessment is designed to provide insight into a given networks security design and implementation providing a reasonable representation of what attackers may discover and attempt to leverage and exploit.
More than just finding the low hanging fruit, the assessment provides a baseline security analysis and couples it with tactical and strategic recommendations to help incrementally improve security and aligning with business goals.
Network Penetration Test
A Network Penetration Test is a logical extension of the Network Vulnerability Assessment in that it takes the issues discovered from an assessment and attempts to simulate an attacker on your network by leveraging these issues to access otherwise secure areas of your network. These tests concentrate on modeling specific attack scenarios, identifying vulnerabilities and validating exploitation possibilities.
Web Applications
A Web Application Penetration Test is designed to provide insight into methods of attack against a specific application or suite of applications and present a reasonable example of the types of things an attacker might accomplish. Web Application Penetration exercises concentrate on identifying vulnerabilities within the application, validating exploitation possibilities and modeling attack scenarios against the affected systems.
As applications and systems become more interconnected, these tests are not intended to provide a comprehensive security evaluation, but to focus on the Application itself separate and apart from the underlying Operating System software.
Host
A host security assessment is designed to provide insight into the security design, configuration and implementation of best practices of a host or set of hosts.
Vulnerabilities revealed through these assessments provide a reasonable representation of what an attacker might discover and attempt to exploit. The tests provide a point-in-time security analysis and resultant recommendations for improving the security of the systems assessed.
Wireless Assessments
A Wireless Security Assessment is designed to provide insight into methods of attack against specific wireless infrastructure components and products to present a reasonable example of what an attacker might accomplish.
The assessment is not intended to provide a comprehensive security evaluation of an organization; rather, it concentrates on simulating high risk attack scenarios, identifying vulnerable areas, and validating possibilities of threat.
Architecture Assessments
Architecture Assessments Implementing security solutions into an organization requires careful planning, an understanding of your business and technical drivers, policies and appetite for risk.
Proper secure enterprise architecture and design, when combined with your company needs, helps to securely enable your business.
Network Assessments
A Network Architecture Assessment identifies the security architecture of a network by assessing the network within the context of the organizations business and technical requirements.
ICM leverages its knowledge of industry best practices and security design to identify weaknesses in controls, design and network implementation and providing tactical and strategic recommendations to improve your security and network traffic flow both internally and for third party connectivity.
